Yes, you are right. You could buy a 911, which is slower and less reliable. Do you have a point?

The 911 is okay, but you could get an NSX with that money, instead of just a VW with 30-year-old styling.

P.S. Sounds like you've never driven an NSX.

pardon me for pointing this out, but for you to call the 996 a VW with 30-year old styling sounds like you've never driven a 996. hehe, quite hypocritical indeed, assuming you have an NSX you drive a Honda whose chassis is fundamentally unchanged from its inception 12 years ago, and whose interior styling looks like an accord from even earlier than that.

hehe, anyway, the 996 C4S (my choice in this case) is a fantastic car, as is the NSX.. between the two, i'd rather have the C4S, but to each his/her own... its about half a second slower to 60, and about half a second slower in the 1/4... both make great track cars, both will annihilate nearly 99% of the cars you'll run into on the street, both have soul, both are incredible pieces of machinery, its all personal preference

Actually, I have driven a 996. And, while it's a nice car that performs well, it's no NSX. There are a few other cars that equal or surpass the NSX, but this isn't one of them.

However, apparently you didn't understand the purpose of my remark. It's no different from saying that an NSX is "just a Honda", like OnlyDrivenA97Accord did, and was intended to mimic his ridiculous statement. Maybe you should try to consider the broader context of a remark and the possibility that it's intended as ironic humor before accusing anyone of being hypocritical.

I sure would buy an NSX. They are amazing. And it's a Honda so you know it's reliable.
