The drive-by-wire programming sucks, the clutch pedal is too long throw, the brakes have way too much travel despite good performance, you can't heel-toe the thing very well, the shifter is clunky and you can't see the front of the car over the dash but it still manages to be a fun drive.
The turbo is punchy and spools fast, the suspension is pretty well-sorted up to 7/10ths or so, the tires are decently sticky (Bridgestone RE040), the steering is nicely weighted, turn-in is nice and crisp, the top goes down, the stereo is good, and the great unwashed think it's more expensive than it is. So overall that ain't so bad despite the issues already laid out.
And just to stay on the topic, Mitsubishi sucks.

is it true the eclipse will be a lot bigger than the current one?
my friend has an 02 eclipse and it is a pretty big car. but it's really small on the inside, and the interior is 99% hard plastic. :ugh:

The Eclipse is once again going to be based on the Galant. The new Galant is going to be bigger to match the size of the now-big Accord, Camry and Altima. So it stands to reason that the Eclipse will grow as well.

As mentioned, it looks like a blend of Eclipse, G7 Accord Coupe, and TT... however, with a decent engine & suspension, it may reach into some of the market of the AV6... assuming that DSM can create an engine that won't kill itself...

Actually I drove a 225hp 6-speed vert, and I liked the spool up. Granted I drove it for 30seconds.
Then, I took the BMW for a spin....
As for Stereos BMW HarmonKardon>Bose

knowing mitsubishi itll probably look like that too. when they design eclipses i think they just make a drawing like that and hand it to the engineers and say 'make it like that, no compromises' and thats it. being able to see the traffic around you is unimportant as long as you look cool in your eclipse. /rant
