All-New Mitsubishi Eclipse

Here's the first picture of Mitsubishi's next Eclipse, codenamed PS24S. The new coupe looks to be larger, featuring many of Mitsubishi's latest styling cues. No word on whether or not the sporty Mitsu will continue to offer both four- and six-cylinder powerplants, or if it will return to turbocharged four-bangers.

The new Eclipse is based on the all-new Galant platform, and is expected to arrive late in the 2005 model year, or possibly for 2006.

 

It will probably get that 3.8 V6 that's going into the Galant. Looks like a new Galant under that camo anyway.

 

Wow, aggressive stance! If the car has balls, could be a winner.

Mitsu might be using the EVO as a halo car to slip in a more powerful Eclipse and pick up sales that would go to the base model WRX.

Galants are 4 door.

 

I doubt it'll be anything more than a 2-door Galant like it is now. The EVO is the true performance car and the Eclipse is the poser car.

 

Looks like an 03 Accord to me?

 

:werd: After killing the 4G63 and AWD, it went downhill...maybe they knew they were gonna bring the Evo over, and killed it so they wouldnt canniballize eachother...?

 

They could always ask Chrysler nicely for a 2.4 DOHC turbo from the SRT-4 :rick: But not likely. I know the Galant is a 4 door, but it has that neo-mitsu look to it. I'm not sure whether it's good or bad.

The placement of the mirror and the front quarter window are very weird. They somehow remind me of an 80's Ferrari

 

Looks like a Pontiac Grand Am to me.
