1) Last time I checked, the stock ITR valvetrain is not designed to rev that high.

2) On the majority of dyno plots I've seen, the stock ITR cams start losing power at 8000rpm.

You said you had to replace your original motor because it wasn't "working properly"? Your new "JDM-R" will end up that like pretty soon with this kind of behavior. There's noone else to blame but the DRIVER.

Who bought you that Type-R anyways?

Rev to 9200 and I guarantee you will lose to my "lowly" GSR in a race.

If you are running the stock cams, shift at redline.

There's a reason why Honda put the limit at 8400rpm, so people like you wouldn't take dumb advice and insist your stock ITR motor will be fine revving to 9100rpm.

Look at it this way, why is it not fine to do it "daily driving"?

Well you need to take a look at your valvetrain and see what's wrong. Off the bat you'll need stiffer valve springs and retainers.

But what I would recommend for you to do before you rev the piss out of the motor, is figure out what exactly do you want out of this car and do some homework before you get into this.

1) There are ZERO reasons to be revving that high on a STOCK ITR valvetrain. Again, shift at 9200 rpm and you'll lose to my stock GSR in a race. Now why would you want to intentionally do that?

2) Doing it on a daily basis or not, it WILL cause damage. Period.

How about we switch cars? I'd hate to see another ITR engine go to waste.
