Default shifting on 5-speed without pressing on clutch

I just got a new oem clutch kit installed by Exedy. The car was driving fine for a few days. All of a sudden when I get ready to turn into a curve rolling at 15mph and try to shift to 2nd. I couldn't put it in gear. I had to press on the clutch like twice for it to come in. It also happens on 1st at times when I'm rolling too. Also the wierdest thing is, when the car is stationary I can shift into all gears without pressing on the clutch. I could have sworn I wasn't able to do this before. Anyone with insights on what it could be?

do you mean stationary, as in, shut off? if so, that's normal.

yea shut off. I tried it on my friends integra today and it didn't move either. I could have sworn mine didn't either, but still i don't understand the shifting into 2nd and 1st is harder than usual. sometimes I have to pump the clutch twice and the slowly release then I can put it in gear. Is it going to damage my tranny in anyway when it is hard to put in gear and I slam it in? I mean I hear no grinds at all and has smooth engagement.

If you have to double clutch it for it to go in, then it's probably got something to do with your gear syncros.

double clutching also involves blipping the throttle between clutch presses. i don't think tdsounds is doing that. but yeah, i would suggest double clutching then.

next time you are slowing down for a 15mph turn, do this. step on clutch, move shifter to neutral. let go of clutch. rev the engine to 2k. then clutch in and shift to 2nd.

i read that it might be more difficult to get into 1st and 2nd cause they have triple cone synchronizers. the rest of the gears have double cone. what's that mean? beats me.

Sounds like you should find a parking lot of free space and do a couple things until you can figure out for sure if its your driving or if its the clutch thats the problem.

Are you riding the clutch into the corner? If you are by the time you try to shift into 2nd or 1st the layshaft has slowed down enough that you need to leave the clutch engaged for quite awhile letting the shaft get up to speed as well as your transmission.

If your blipping the throttle while the car is in neutral and the clutch out, you shouldnt have any trouble getting into whatever gear you going for.

If your double pumping the clutch to build clutch pressure then you need to speak to your installer about that.

Also I feel a little less pressure from the clucth more than usual. I drive fine on the highways and doing a straightaway, but those turns and while I roll slowly in traffic is when it happens. Dunno wassup, but hopefully I'll be alrite

I have a question on double clutching here. I understand what it is and how to do it. My question is when downshifting from a gear I usually just put in the clutch give it a lil blip and then pop it to the next gear down at the same time making a smooth transition. But I just read that you are supposed to put in the clutch take it out of gear then let off the clutch the put the clutch back in and blip the throttle and drop it down a gear at the same time. Basically my question is do you have to let up on the clutch to be downshifting double clutching correctly. Because I've been double clutching for long enough now that I don't even realize I'm doing it and I've just been leaving the clutch engaged while doing it.

Oh and kfar, what part of Cinci are you from? I'm just curious, I'm from Cincinnati as well.
