If you're good at matching revs, you can actually upshift without using a clutch. Works better on a dog-engagement race box but can still be done with syncromesh.

On the original issue, it sounds like some kind of issue in the clutch hydraulic system.
*edited my original post above with respect to doubleclutching*

As for the original inquiry, not sure if you've tried this but go on a freeway and try downshifting into 4th and 3rd (for example when you exit on an off-ramp). If you find yourself pumping the clutch for 3rd and 4th along with 2nd, then it's probably an hydraulic issue. I would check with the guys who installed it first though.

On highway or straightways no problem at all. I only have the problem when I'm rolling slowly in traffic or turning into a street under 15mph. Sometimes when I complete stop at redlight and then try to get into 1st gear the problem of getting it in 1st occurs. I have to pump clutch a couple of times and trying to put it in. I feel stupid when everyone is going on green while I'm still trying to get it in first to ride off. I been driving a stick for 3yrs already so I don't think its my driving.

Alot of standard cars I have driven, have had a little difficulty going into first from a roll. To get around that, with the clutch, go into second gear for a few seconds, then put it in first.....

I have your same problem in 1st and reverse. It's actually sometimes easier for me to stick it in 1st from a roll (revmatching) versus from a dead stop. Same problem with reverse, but my second gear goes in just fine. I have been told everything from synchros to hydraulics. I'll let you know when I fix the problem.
