^^ Sleeving isn't always the best option. The stock block is perfectly capable of 400 whp. (Probably quoted from Provocateur at some point)

I got my Eagle H-beams for $280 shipped, and 9.7:1 CP Pistons for $400 shipped in the HT market place. I think the seller was: http://www.rogueusa.com/ And yes I still have yet to boost my fully built motor, school is fawking expensive!

Keep your eyes open, I've seen Wiseco and JE pistons as low as $300. I haven't seen CP's lower than $450 though. What kind of valvespring's are you looking at?

nice...id go with the gt3071r. Ive heard lots of good things about it. Many claim its one of the best "street" turbos. Or you could look into turbonetics new GTK turbos...there pretty sweet

Eagle rods from Tunertoys for $319.
They also have their "tunertoys" rods as well that they are promoting that they are good up to 600-700hp. $250 (although i've never heard anything about them).

Nope, no sleeves.

I would rather pay the extra money for the Eagle rods instead of some no-name rods with no previous track record. Plenty of solid, reliable power has been made on Eagle rods.

Oh, and if you ever decide you want to piece out your turbo kit, let me know.

My GSR is sitting at 150k and I would love to add some boost after a fresh rebuild.

BTW, This thread should be a sticky.
No need for a sticky. I will just update this thread as things progress. No need to further clog the mess of shit at the top of this forum.

If i was you i would get it sleeved (about 1k) that will make it so that it have all the reliability and strength that you would need/want. It will give u some peace of mind. I need to start a thread of my build soon.. Keep us updated.
Sounds like a solid build you have going there. What are your power goals?

Sleeving is overkill for my power goals, IMO. I don't really have the funds to do that anyway.

And those pistons are complete with rings, wrist pins, and spiral locks? I will definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for deals since my next purchase will be rods and pistons so I can get the machine work done. Thanks for the link...I'll check it out.

I was thinking Supertech on the valve springs but I haven't done much research on which brand is best for my application. Any recommendations?

Yeah, we sell the 3071 at work and I could get a killer deal on it but paying twice as much for a few rpm quicker spool time is probably not the smartest thing to do on a limited budget. Oh, well...build is now, turbo upgrade is later, so I will make a decision when it is time.

plugging up the oil squirters might be to your advantage if going forged. The extra jump in oil pressure could be worth it, then again, it could be pointless

Yeah, I was planning on doing that. It is mentioned in my plans for the engine build. If it is pointless, I will only be out a few bucks.

Looks like this will be interesting. I've heard mixed feelings on Eagle rods and my feelings on sleeving is that you might as well do it while you have it apart especially considering that people like you and me have a hard time sitting still. You know that as soon as you get this thing to 400 you'll want more... and a year later even more. It's no small task to garage your car, tear down the engine, and ship it off to be sleeved so I think you should just do it while you're in the current situation. What better time will you have? It's much easier to replace internals than it is to have block work done... just a perspective to consider.

Based on your knowledge, I expect you to achieve just what (and more than) you have expressed here. You're in for a fun ride.
