It really does depend on the jurisdiction you drive thru. Some care about noise, some care about how you are driving. Some care about both. My father n law drives a vette, and last time I checked it was not that quiet.

Not just the jurisdiction, but the individual cop. The last time I got a fix it ticket and I took it in to get signed off, the officer signing it off said "Oh, I know this guy. This kind of stuff is a pet peeve of his, so he writes a lot of tickets for it." The ticket was for clear corners.

I don't see them pulling every Harley over....

Word, cops like those are the ones who drive station wagons when they are off duty. The ones who are cool, like my father n law, drive something else where they can relate.

Kind of courtesy to tell you to have your car looked at.

But the cop can still ticket anyone he wants if the exhaust is not stock, and he believes it MAY be over the legal limit. I've never heard of the Smog monitoring devices on roadways, but I have heard of the portable smog dynos that they have used in the past at the races.

I won't argue w/that. I was pulled over cause my exhaust was loud in 2004. W/regards to the monitoring device. I should have been more clear. It is still in the early stages and is not fully on deployed, but the training is in place.

Since it is a fix-it ticket, they don't need proof. Burden of compliance with the vehicle code is on the owner, not the officer. That's what the Ref is for, to prove whether you comply or not.

wish they would do that shit here, really tired of redneck fuckers that jack up daddy's pickup truck and put those stupid ass exhaust systems that rattle your windows when they drive by @ 2am on their way home from fingerbanging their fucking 13 year old girlfriend

No, but I'll be there in 2 weeks. I have a couple of friends with GSR hatch swaps who've been there, but none who've gone for exhaust.
