Yeah, did you even look at my DIY that I posted earlier in this thread? That is all that is required if you aren't retrofitting.

I have 8000k Xenon HID Plug n Play and its blueish at night, but purple looking during the day...good combo, but its not retrofitted, i just replaced the bulbs with the HID projector bulbs and drilled my ballasts into my engine bay.

Same here. I don't really want to be putting my headlights in the oven to soften the glue. I would just be too scared of hacking up a functioning pair of headlights.

That and the price. For the result, it isn't worth it, IMO. I have decent cutoff with minimal glare, so I don't really have much of an incentive to retrofit.

AND one more question before I go. some people have put there high beam bulbs in place of there low beams with some shaving to make it brighter. why not just do this with the HIDs. order the highbeam, i think its 9006, trim some shitz and bam brighter HIDs. sound right?

I wouldn't be looking on ebay. Most of those HID kits are crap.

If Xenith Xenons is still around in the sponsors section, I highly recommend buying from him. His kits are $250 shipping and have everything you need to get them wired in.

I wouldn't put a 9005 HID bulb into a 9006 socket. Technically, you could do it, but the life expectancy on those bulbs is much shorter than the 9006 low beam bulbs.

I've had them for over 7 months now, no problems whatsoever

My friend had a hook up from someone and I paid 250 with install.

But thats the average price of decent kits anyways.

hey schmoo, since you didn't do a HID Projector Retrofit, how did you get the HID bulbs to fit in the Halogen Projectors? Aren't the HID Base differen't from the Halogen Projector Base?
