Yes, I did hear that turning them on/off myth too but I've had no problems with mine, over a year now. Yes the bulbs are a bit more expensive when you have to replace them but honestly they're all over ebay for like $60 a set (D2R or D2S), it's not as bad as some people think.

Probably around 8000k. Mine have a minor hint of blue and they are 6000k, so anything higher will give you more blue and eventually a purple color.

Yea, the higher K is the more blue/purple color. Something like an 8,000K is what you're looking for. Kinda like the BMW. I posted pictures above and those are the typical 4,000K and you can clearly tell they are HID's.

There is no way those are 4000k. I have 6000k and yours seem more purple than mine do. They look more like 8000k to me.

they look bright white to me, id have to see it from adistance or mabye cut off. my buddy has 12k which is CRAZY. red RX7 with red/pink HIDs kinda weird yet cool cuz no one here has them. BRIIIIIGHT! How hard is it to do the wiring on these bad boys

A retard could do the wiring. All you have to do is plug the ballast into the stock harness and then plug the bulb into the ballast harness. The hardest part of the install is finding a suitable place to mount the ballasts.
