Default exhaust options

I'm looking for some help finding an exhaust for my 00' GSR...
I'm planning to go turbo so 60-70mm piping would be preferred.

i'm looking for an exhaust system that won't sound ricey, that is straight thru, if such an exhaust can exist.

i need to keep the noise level down as much as possible because they have been giving midless tickets out to anyone who even fits the racing profile around here because of a kid that was supposedly killed by street racers... god i hate those morons

How about an RSR exhaust? The sound is minimal and it looks pretty stock but performs as well as any other loud exhaust out there.

I would also recommend a Greddy SP2 because the piping is fully stainless steel and it is rather quiet.

You also have to keep in mind that the exhaust will be super loud when you are N/A but once the turbo goes on, it will silence it a lot.

i know you said to get the LS kit and get the skunk 2 intake manifold for the turbo, but are the hanger positions the same from all 94-01 years? if so maybe i can just get a pre-00 gsr catback and get ahold of a high flow cat from the same "era" and then just use that bolted to a 94-99 gsr kit?

or maybe i'm just crazy...

thanks for the reply man

Don't quote me on it, but I do believe that the hangers are in the same position, the only difference as you know, is the length of the cat.

I am sure that if you got the exhaust, cat, and downpipe from a 94-99 GSR, it should bolt up fine, but what would you do before you actually have the turbo kit installed?

if ur planning on going turbo, u want the exhaust thatz just right for it. if ur putting out alotta boost, ur prolly gonna want a relatively large exhaust. ive never seen exhaust piping measured in MM's tho, usually inches are used. for turbo, 3" piping is recommended due to the amount of backpressure. however, if u go with a 3" without turbo, u might have too little backpressure, and that is a bad thing as u dont want ur engine wearing itself out and/or backfiring too much. at the moment, i have a 2.5" on my integra GS-R, and thatz about as big as u wanna go non-turbo.

since the kit would be the major reason for the upgrade it could wait until after i install the turbo to go on
