Default Click when Clutch is released/depressed?

I have an 00 GS, and one thing I noticed tonight while driving is that when I put the clutch to the floor, lets say about an cm to an inch of letting it up a small click noise is made. It almost sounds like something electrical really, its not that loud, but I do hear it. It also makes this little click when the clutch it put back down. Now I have driven an automatic car for over 3 years, this is my first manual. I know on the auto there was a click for the Neutral Safety sensor which it is supposed to do...is this what I am hearing? The only reason I cant think of why I didnt hear it before was because I usually had the radio on(last night I disconnected battery to reset ecu for intake and now need radio code-but I know where and how to get that). Now driving with no radio I hear this click, is this normal or should I check something out? Thanks guys, I searched but could not find this problem, or rather question if its a problem at all. All I found was "tranny grind" "clutch squeal " problems, not a small click.
Thanks,
Justin

73k...lol I dont think its that, its electrical though, because it only makes the sound when the key is in and turned to the 2nd accessory or the car turned on. Almost sounds like a relay of some sort.

Where is the noise coming from? Is it from the pedal assembly or from the clutch housing?

The first thing that comes to mind is a stuck clutch switch if the noise is in the pedal. Reach up to where the clutch switch is and check the movement of it and make sure it is fluid.

From the clutch pedal. What is the purpose of a clutch switch, and can you describe what it looks like?

The clutch switch is what is pressed when the clutch is fully depressed in order to start the car. It is a little button way up inside the assembly that is pushed by the other side of the pedal when it is fully depressed. You will just have to feel for it since it is so far up there.

I have no idea. Chances are that if you have to have the clutch fully depressed when starting the car, it has a clutch interlock switch somewhere in the pedal assembly.
