95' GSR w/ 206k mi.
I am looking to buy an integra, there is a gsr with 206k mi that I am looking @... gonna give the guy a call tomorrow most likey. The problem lies in the milage...he claims to be a honda technician and that the car is running beautifully but I was wondering how many more I could get off the engine before it goes, not to mention the other parts. I plan to seeks answers to my questions in the phone call, but I just wanted your opinion.
The car is basically as followed:
1995 Acura Integra GSR, excellent condition. Leather. Many extras. Very clean. Must see! Owned by Honda technician, needs nothing! Oil changed every 2k miles. Upgrades/modifications include: New Enkei wheels, Pirelli P-700 tires, Ground Control adjustable springs, Tokiko HP struts, front and rear camber correction, front upper strut bar, rear lower tie bar, rear upper strut bar, cold air and half-stack intake with K&N filter, DC Sports header (4 into 1), Spoon Sport thermostat and thermoswitch, Type R like red guages and clock, Type R shift knob, Pioneer CD head unit with cordless remote, Alpine 4 channel amp, MB Quartz 6 inch seperates, and high-end 10" MTX sub-woofer. The engine runs strong! Clean inside and out. 206,000 highway miles with many left to go!! Hate to sell but must, as second baby is on the way.
What do you all think? I mean, it has some nice mods and also a nice started sound system which is definately a plus for me.
thanks

I personally wouldn't buy this car becuase its modded. I wouldn't get any moded car for 2 reasons.
1. If the person is modding the car, chances are they are driving it like its modded.
2. I want a stock car so I can mod it myself, I think there's a bigger sense of acomplishment there, and I also have fun while modding it.

How much is he offering his car for? Modded cars usually sell LESS than similar stock ones (for the reasons mentioned above). If you got a killer deal for it then by all means go ahead; I personally would search for a stock gsr with lower mileage and pay the extra $$$

The only way you guarantee getting a car that hasn't been modded is getting a new car. People can put a turbo on, drive the hell out of it, and take it off and sell the car. You won't know. But a car with that many mods and that many miles is probably a bad idea. Unless it's really cheap. That's my opinion.

something better? BS, i have a 95 GSR with 207,xxx miles on it, the only thing that has ever needed replacement is a idler pulley that was 48 bucks direct from honda, the car still runs like new. Though i did buy it stock (w/178,000), worse comes to worse, you do a valve job and put some new rings in, i assume most people here know cars right? Work is cheap when you do it yourself, and honda's rarely need work, also, GSR's are really hard to find. PS - I race mine all the time, i have won G-Stock in autoX's before.
your car with 200+ miles could be completely different from this car which is being sold. i dont see you selling your car. this person, however, is selling theres. i'm just saying its not worth the risk.

totally true, miles do matter to a certain extent......IMO i wouldn't buy the car, already moded cars just dont work for me either, and that is true that you don't know how he treated it, he could be saying he's a honda tech and all but that still doesn't explain everything...
if this guy is close, take a look at it, test drive it, whatever you want to do........but look around a lot more
