Default Taking out the alternator

daym, it seems impossible to take out the alternator without removing the manifold. i unbolted the 2 screws that holds the alternator and unhook all the plugs but i cant seem to remove the alternator to change the pulley, do i take it from the bottom or the top? what's the easiest way to take out the alternator? i'm hoping i wont have to remove the manifold or the breaking fluid container. please help

Why are you trying to take out the alternator?

Yeah - you could probably start it if your battery is strong, but it wont stay that way without it being charged by the alternator. I have no idea how to remove it though, but if ForceFedGSR said you have to remove the axel, I'm sure he is correct.

Yes you are supposed to remove the axle and intermediate shaft. I have done it, it's not that hard. Jack up only the front left side of the car, that way you won't have to drain the transmission when you pull the intermediate shaft out of the differential. You will probably need someone to help hold the spindle while you remove the axle, and then again when you go to put the axle back in.
