Alternator or Alternator Cable??
This is leaving me stumped. My charging light has been on for the past week and a half. My battery ended up dying on me while I was driving without any other electrical components on (after I had to jump the car to allow the starter to crank).
Well I took a voltmeter to the battery and it read 12.25 consistently, then I turned the car on and slowly revved it up to ~4k. I got a max reading of 13.2 volts. Now should I test the power cable off of the alternator? And if so, is it the cable with the rubber cover over it on the top of the alternator? And should I measure resistance?

After you blip the throttle to above about 2,000 RPM the alternator should start cahrging at over 13V. You shouldn't have to rev it up to maintain the increase in charging.
I know it's a PITA, but you may want to remove the alternator and have it tested at Autozone, Pep Boys etc...
How old is your battery?

Sounds like your alternator is on its last legs. It should be putting out ~14.7 volts at idle.
You can have an autoparts store run a diagnostic on it like m735is said just to make sure.

I did have it checked out aswell, he said he did see the alternator put out some juice. But the charging light is still on, I thought that it only comes on while the voltage reads below 12 volts?
