Default aww its an alternator!

Ok, so i used a pry bar and some elbow grease to pull part of the smashed in front-end away from the power steering and all that, everything looked good, so i started it... Battery light was on, and the belt that ran to the alternator was screeching like mad.. The alternator was barely turning, if at all... Frozen bearings? I dunno why it chose now to decide to quit on me, but i have a parts car that i can get it off of and hope it still works for me...

Now heres the question of the hour!

Do i get the alternator off from the bottomside?

well got it undone, now it wont come out of any direction

Looks like im going to have to do close to what you did, but i think ill just need to remove my half-shaft and the alternator bracket... when i worked at o'reillies there were a few occasions which some stranded girl needed an alternator on her pos olds or chevy, and i could change em in 30 minutes int he parking lot.... this is one thing bout the integras that i do not enjoy h:

I did not take the half shaft of , what I did was undo the shock fork undo the sway bar endlinks and that gave me enough room to fit the alternator between the half shaft and the body.,

hm, my fender doesnt look like its gonna be letting the alternator go free

i think i just need to take the half shaft out and the mounting bracket for it, and it will come out... gonna take some hellacious strength to undo the mounting brackets bolt, in such a tight spot only thing thatll fit is a tiny 1/4'' drive rachet or a small wrench.
