Default 12-second Integra?

Hi. This is my 1st post on this forum. As you can probably tell from my username I own an RX7 right now. I am looking to add a 90-93 Integra to my small car collection. I am in the midst of starting a performance shop in the Raleigh, NC area. I wanna build a Honda/Acura that will be very respectable on the 1/4 track. I did a search and I didn't seem to come up with any Integras that came close to the 12sec mark; I probably didn't put the right word in the search.

I don't mind doing engine swaps, trannies, LSDs, etc. I would like to do it NA, but that may be a pipe dream. I have quite a bit of automotive experience and have the facilities to do custom fabrication or whatever is necessary. I would assume that my HP mark is 300crankHP to hit those quarter mile times. I have to admit that I am not very familiar with 4bangers and their performance/mods, etc. If anyone has some useful links, or ideas, they will be appreciated.

220 ish whp NA will hit high 12's on slicks. You will need big cams and a B18C5 (Type-R) engine and a lot more work/money.

the type-R engine puts out about 190-200HP right? assuming a 15% driveline loss that would be about 161-170WHP. So I am looking for an extra 60-80WHP. Thanks for the info.

Erik's Racing hit a 9.99 on a NA B18C1 @ a little under 240whp, I believe.

I'm sure with enough work a 12 second run in your situation is achievable.

Reason being most of the people going after low drag times start with the Civic chassis and save themselves ~500 lbs right off the bat.

If you have good wrench abilities you could hit 12s with almost no mods in say... a 1st gen CRX. :chuckles:

He's pushing a little north of 270 IIRC. There's dynos on his site.

b20 block, type r head, agressive cams, bolt ons, high comp pistons, etc...

should get you in the 250hp range.

Even 240 and 270 won't hit 9's in a street legal car. Erik pulled a good bit of weight out of the cra that would prohibit safe street use.

Type-R engine stock is about 165-170 whp. On stock cams with tuning and a different Intake and Header 185 whp easily do able 190 on stock cams with an exhaust as well is been done as well. The right cams and other considerations like increased compression and such will get you to 220 pretty easily. I've seen 245 NA and streetable.

THere are always better ways to do things as mentioned above . . . .

This is a good option but you have to learn the setup a little more than that. The B20 won't rev like the 1.8l options so some time needs to be spent considering the possibilities.
