Default Piston install

Is it possible to put new pistions and rods in 2000 civic ex without taking the whole motor out of the car, has anyone done this before? I was talking to someone and they said about pulling the head off and then taking off everything underneith(oil pan and what not) and then i would be able to take the old ones out and drop the news ones in from the top.
Also if i am gonna do this i am gonna need:
Pistons
Rods
Piston rings
rod bearings?????not sure on that one
anything else
Anything for the head? new studs or head gasket
This is all prep for turbo, down the road.

Yea you could do it without take out the engine, but i think it might be easier with it out. The only times i've dealt with taken engines apart they were already out the bay so I dunno how difficult it would be still intact.

Just dropping the oil pan and everything underneath and such and take off the head is all you really need to do i believe.

Yea you need to change the rod bearings too... and head gasket... Im not POSITIVE if you have to but why take the risk..

If you're going turbo down the road, the dumbest thing you can do right now is try to cut corners.

Anytimes you replace pistons you should make absolutely sure that the bore matches the piston going in for clearance issues [same goes for rings]. If you don't, you might scuff the bore, or you might get piston slap. Either way spells bad mojo for your block.
