what happens is this. i will try to explain if i can
deck to amp to sub/speakers.
from the deck, signals are sent to the amp. From the amp speaker wires are sent to each speaker and the sub. THe installer did the correct thing and tapped into the wires leading from the factory amp to the aftermarket amp. If you dissconnect the plug, it will break the circuit from the sub to the amp. Its hard to explain, but if you want, the installer can tap into the wires before the amp. that way if you disconnect the factory sub, then the aftermarket JL subs will still work.
