Default how to charge a capacitor

Im looking for info on how to charge a capacitor, the simple way?


~with trial and error i figured it out~ and got a nice shock while doin it~

using a 50 ohm 1/2 watt resisor, connect it to the positive side of the cap and connect it to a 12v source and groudn the negative terminal. Wait about 10 seconds before removing. Remember a needle nose plier to hold the resistor as it gets hot as hell.
