Default is the 6 gen vulnerable?

let's just say i had a remote start alarm system, right, and those of you that have it, you know how they take our valet keys, right? obviously, they're taking the chip or sumthin out of the key to bypass the anti theft in the ignition( i dunno how, if you do, please explain) to remote start it. well, i was just wondering, since the chip is in there somewhere, can thieves just pop the ignition out and start your vehicle like any other older hondas?

Well from what i understand, the chip has to be in proximity to the ignition to start the car. So what they do is cut up your valet key and zip tie the chip part of the key that is in th plastic somewhere near the ignition.
So in effect it is making your car easier to steal since for my 6th gen they would need a chip to start it along with picking the ignition but for yours they would only have to pick the ignition to drive off.

they're manually bypassing the transponder system by having a "key" permanently within proximity of the ignition so the whole remote start system will work.

this defeats the transponder system 100%. you can use a copied key with no chip, or simply pull the ignition like with any car not equipped with an immobilizer system.

also, anyone can get the VIN off your windshield, go to Honda and tell them they need a backup trunk key... "i dont need a key to start the motor, i just need an extra key for the trunk". it will be unchipped, cheap, and they'll just toss it over the counter since the guys at Honda wont assume you're trying to steal a car with it since there's no chip... and your vehicle's anti-theft system has already been bypassed and is worthless.

all close but not that close. The best way to do it is indeed to use your spare key. You take a piece of wire wrap it around the ignition, about two feet out take one end of the wire and wrap it around the key, then take the end of the wire wrapped around a key and put it to pin 30 on a relay, take the other end from the ignition and put it to 87A, then put it the coil from the relay to one of the aux power outputs from the remote start and you're all set. Wrap it all up, use some split loom to hide it, then stuff it somwhere away from the ignition. Then that key will only be used when the car starts.

which is pretty much how this works http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=14934

or you can get one of these that learns the key http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=14934 and you won't need one again. It learns how the transponder talks to the key, and then replicates it when you remote start.

how so? My immobilizer still works. It would take at least 15 minutes to get to where my other key is(takes me me a few hours to take the dash apart enough to get to the guts of my alarm which is also where the key is). If it's started and you open the door without the remote it sets off the alarm and the engine dies and the alarm sounds. If you set off the inner proximity sensor without first disarming the alarm with the remote the engine dies and the alarm sounds. If you step on the brake pedal or try to put the car in gear while it's remote started the motor dies and the alarm sounds. While the alarm is armed and the remote start isn't engaged the immobilizer is fully functional. Meaning even if you could figure out a way to get into my car and bypass both the starter kill and fuel cut from my alarm, you still won't be abel to get passed the immobilizer, even if you do find the key, because the key is encased in copper weave and aluminum with 2 ton epoxy and JBweld surrounding that with just two little wires coming out of it, and you'd really have to understand what I did before you could use the two wires because it does no good to put the block of epoxy up to the shift column because it's shielded. Or if you use the thing in the second link on my last post it stores the code electronically and will "lose" the code if someone breaks in. I don't get how it defeats the purpose of the immobilizer?

Actually, on the newer ones,, like mine, they dont Use your key anymore. The shop I went to was able to clone my chip from my ignition key, and its a little black box somewhere under my dash. Its hooked up to a relay thay only sends power through it when the remote start is activated using the remote. My Immobilizer still works 100%. I tried using a spare key without a chip and it would not start. I think it depends on the system you use, and the quality of the shop doing the install.
