they're manually bypassing the transponder system by having a "key" permanently within proximity of the ignition so the whole remote start system will work.

this defeats the transponder system 100%. you can use a copied key with no chip, or simply pull the ignition like with any car not equipped with an immobilizer system.

also, anyone can get the VIN off your windshield, go to Honda and tell them they need a backup trunk key... "i dont need a key to start the motor, i just need an extra key for the trunk". it will be unchipped, cheap, and they'll just toss it over the counter since the guys at Honda wont assume you're trying to steal a car with it since there's no chip... and your vehicle's anti-theft system has already been bypassed and is worthless.
