yeah...but you're gonna go try it, mess up the tranny, then post on here all about it...just saving you some trouble

Its called speed shifting or power shifting and yes it does hurt the tranny..as proof I would be glad to send my synchros to you as proof.

You can shift without the clutch, as long as you match "engine speed" to "road speed." That is what happens when truck drivers "double clutch." You can shift without your clutch as long as you "match" the rpm's with the speed you are travelling. You just might have to pull the shifter out of gear, goose the accelerator, and then feel the way into the next gear as the rpm's drop. It is the opposite for downshifting.

With today's transmissions, however, it is not very effective to do this with your car. Synchros help out quite a bit.

well 2 put this 2 an end if u wanna shift w/o a clutch get an auto otherwise just do it w/ the clutch.
also what is double clutchin??

I was reffering to your desription of shifting without letting the clutch speed drop down......just saying it was bad is all nothing personal I got your point.

cool....i know bout the synchros....i tried playin around with that stuff when i first bought my fd3s and ended up screwing up the tranny (synchro)....these are already weak from mazda, so add the abuse, and BOOM...you need a new tranny.....now i'm just too lazy to do anything besides basic shifting
