Default Weak Headlights ('05 Accord)

Since day 1 on my '05 Accord EX V6, my headlights have been so-so. When on bright they are awesome. But on regular the cars behind me create a shadow of my car in front of me. When it rains, I really think my lights just barely work. I'll even turn them off while driving to see if there is any difference and I can hardly tell the difference.

I took my accord to the dealership once and they said everything was normal and needed to upgrade to more expensive headlights, which I thought was BS, because everything else stock on my Accord is great. My problem is now that I no longer live in the city and there are not as many street lights I sometimes cannot see a turn coming until the last second.

What could be some standard headlight issues for me to check out?

switch to sylvania bright star lights from autozone, they're about 20 bucks each.
but if u have a voltage reader, use it to find out how much volts ur bulbs are getting first.

Just replace the bulbs with OEM? Bulbs get weaker as they age.

I have the same compleint to Honda on my 2 accords that I own and on the CIVIC I have owned.

On my 1999 ex-v6 I used to replace the OEM bulbs with Sylvania silver star but they keept burning out every year so now I use the OEM one.

I did go to Autozone and bought driving light kit for $25 and installed them under the fornt bumper.

I adjusted them to light up the road just infront of the car about 15ft.

What a difference that makes. Even when it is raining out I can still for the most part see the road. Light reflect off the road when the road is wet.

Installing the lights took some planning though. I have a dedicated switch for it inside near the cruise control button.

If you really need high impact, the HID is the way to go although they are very expensive.

HIDs are pretty cheap now a days, around 150 on ebay for a pretty dependable set, but the only problem, just like w/ any other kit, the bulbs are pretty unpredictable they can go out fast, but those are also pretty cheap now.
so i'd definately go for the HIDs if u can afford it.
