1.5" drop without camber kit???
i just got a set of 18" motegi ff7s with a 45 offset. I havent mounted them yet but i know its gonna ride really high. Im gonna drop it 1.5" but i want to know if i should get a camber kit right away. i cant drop it more than 1.5" cuz the roads i drive on suck and i dont really feel like losing my oil pan.
anyone have an 1.5" drop without a camber kit? do the tires wear really bad??

i had about a 1.5 inch drop on my civic and it killed my tires, the insides of the tires wore down to the cords. i would advise you to get a camber kit for the front. im not sure how the suspension is set up on accords, but if its similar to the civic rear suspension then you wouldnt need to buy a rear camber kit, you can just unbolt the upper control arm and just insert some washers to straighten out the wheel. i would also suggest the ingals camber kit with the polyurathane bushings, they're so easy to install and very easy to adjust.
The fronts do. The camber changes and gets even more negative on turns, so the front tires get chewed up bad. The back probably will not suffer badly. You can always just put the tires and drop it, and then go to a tire shop. There's a lot of places (at least around here) that will do a free alignment check. I put in a camber kit this weekend, and got my front camber to -.6
I was tired of seeing how bad my fronts would wear.

he's right. I thought my camber was messing up my rear tires.
In fact it was the toe that was out of wack!

toe shreds tires..and when people lower their car without getting an allignment, the out-of-spec toe settings will shred the inner tires due to negative camber...but then people blame in on camber
<---running -2.5 camber for 2 years and no excessive wear...going to be running -3 (hopefully) in a couple months
You need to get an alignment after lowering your car regardless of whether or not you have a camber kit. If the alignment shop says you need a camber kit, get one. It would be much easier to buy and install the camber kit with the springs, but if you are tight for money, the best option is to wait and see if you actually need it.
And toe does kill tires, not camber. Negative camber is not necessarily a bad thing. Daily driving camber isn't so good since it looks bad and will degrade handling but for certain types of racing, negative camber is required.

Another thing is that while some cars are affected more in the front, others are affected more in the rear. 6th gen Accords are affected more in the rear than the front from my experience and pretty much every other lowered 6th gen I've seen.
I have H&R sports, with the front lowered another .25" and the front is still in spec without any correction, whereas the rear was out of spec.
