Default '90 Hydrolic Assist Clutch

I have a '90 Accord and Im having probs with the Clutch disengaging and having to JAM the shift lever into gear. I don't like doing this and need to track down the prob.

the Pedal is Limp and i have to almost stand on it to disengage whatever gear i am in. This just happened tonight on the drive home, really fun during rush hour, when i went to shift the pedal came back from the floor about halfway and then stopped.

I had to put my foot under it and lift it a bit, like riding my bike, until it popped out, but it was still limp and wanted top drop back down to the disengage spot.

Any who... I'm thinking Hydro Assist cylinder, or at least check the fluid in there. what else can it be and if you think H/A too has anyone done this and can you est cost (new & used)? Yahoo! sons b-day is getting postponed again.

well...this has happened to my accord also. i have the same year and one of the clutch lines were pierced or leaking. it was from rubbing against something in the engine bay and finally rubbed down to the middle.

id check on the floor to see if there is any leakages.

otherwise, it might be the slave cylinder or throwoutbearing.

check for leaks, if you can't find one, then bleed the system.

mine did that and i couldn't figure it out... so i was underneath the steering colum when i relized there was oil/greese looking shit running from clutch pedal... long story short, master cylinder rings blew causing major pressure loss, look at that too

Ok ... New development, anyone from CANADA or the U.P. or the Great Northern Cold could probably tell me what my problem is here. Talked to my buddy the mechanic, thank goodness i know he's honest... ITS DAMN COLD today... all this is going somewhere.

This is a '90 Accord, likely with the original seals, Slave Cylinder and hosing... SO the problem is the cold... I am just finding out that the same thing is happening to my brothers '88 Camry. Cold makes things shrink.. check ur pants next time you get out of the pool... and condense. the combo of the two are hell on hydrolics. the fluid condenses, building up pressure, and the seals shrink
allowing the fluid to pass by. thats why my pedal was sitting on the floorboards this morning, it was like -5* F last night.

So now my problem becomes replacing the seals... anyone ever done that, I may start a new thread for that. Damn I wish CB7Tuner.com wasn't down.
