Synthetic Oil Questions
BMW use Mobil 1 5W30 and change it every 15000 miles as part of their 2 years free maintenance. Oil change is still the cheapest thing out there. 20 dollars can get your 5 quarts, that's more than most Honda cars need. The same 20 dollars can't even fill your gas tank nowaday.
I still don't see why people cheap out on oil. If you eat out 2 times less, you can get Mobil 1. If you skip that vending maching 4 times, you can get a bottle of Black Magic to clean your car interior for 6 years. Cars are the cheapest maintenance things out there. Car tires last a pretty long time and they're only 300 dollars for a excellent set of Michellins 17 inches.

If we need to cheap out on something, it's gasoline. Car pool, use buses, or just clean your car interior instead of driving around the hoods looking for trouble. I don't use my car for anything beside work during the week day. Weekend comes and I may take her out for a spend. I usually like to take her out on Interstate once in awhile and do 80s instead of driving around the blocks doing 20s wasting gas.

Better yet, skip the Black Magic since it contains silicone (liquid crack for any sort of polymer), and use some water and diluted simple green to actually CLEAN the interior (since black magic is only a conditioner, not a cleaner), and then some 303 Aerospace Protectant to actually protect your car's interior without a greasy overly shiney afterfinish and such.

I use Black Magic and Armor-All. Both have never let me down.

A- It's much cheaper
B- It's much glossier and more pronounced for the first couple of days which is what really matters when you run a detailing business and are first handing the keys over to a customer.
Do some research around the web on 303 Aerospace Protectant and you can find out more. There are a couple of other similar products I know of that contain no silicone disolates: Zaino Z9 and Meguires Endurance (ONLY the non-high gloss endurance... the high gloss type which is much more common and is purple rather than white, contains a ton of silicone)
