I smell something burning...

there is something under the battery that pipes run to. If it smells electrical it could be a ground wire since the ground wire runs around the battery beside the radiator and under the battery to the starter or something grounded to the engine. There is a big black case under the battery which the intake connects to but electrical smells dont come from there. Im thinking break fluid squrting out of a pipe on to something hot under car from the wheel, I don't know thow, just some things for you to check!

Oh I had a plastic bag stick to my cat one time, I was pissed!! I had to lay on the ground and try to take it off with a broom, I looked like a real idiot haha

Ha ha! My dad bought new in 1995 a C280 and drove it from Dallas TX to Branson MO with an empty garbage bag caught on a bolt on the exhaust. It ended up melting to the cat and exhaust system. There's still scorch marks on the cat to this day.

Well, I found the cause of the burning smell problem this week.

Now, my engine won't start. I crank and crank and crank. Nothing.

The mechanic at the dealership said it was the Main Relay -- whatever and whereever that is!!!

Anyway. Car starts. No more burning smell.
