current state of my car w/ pics...
eh, consider yourself lucky. When my sh1t breaks, I have to walk or skate... sometimes as much as 15 miles a day.
Not having another mode of transportation makes you rush things more than you ought to. Last time my car broke, I didn't have enough $$ to fix it, so I had to quit my job and get one closer to home.

i think im just gonna rebuild it stopck cause that $200 i planed on spending on pistons can be spent on some much needed body work insteasd, i can awalys do the motor later, right now im sick of it looking like a peice of shit
yea but i need new bearings, head gasket, head studs, possibly a crank and most likely rods (im getting rods for almost nothing)
the reason i say "stock" is cause i was think ing about going w/ JDM ITR pistons to bump the compression, but like i said before i need reliability, and although 11:1 isnt very risky it could turn out to be more probolems than its worth till i can afford to do alot of other stuff as well like better rods, and some head work.

...as long as you get a good deal on the parts you need. If youre paying the same either way, 11:1 is pretty safe if the car is running well and doesn't have shit gas. But if its significantly more, I understand just getting it back up and running stock.
But I have friends that would get really pissed if you rebuilt an engine stock... they say its the perfect excuse to go all out. Theyre probably right.

ya just pull the bearings (rod, and main) and make sure ur cam is not all scuffed up where the bearings go. If it is u can always use emery(sp?) cloth to smooth and u will be good to go, I had to do that last week and the engine seems alot stronger now. I got mine from bap import auto parts in az for $90 w/oilpan gasket, it took about 2 hrs todo, all of em went right in and its been running like a champ. Even the gas mileage got better, or maybe its cuz im not driving it hard yet
