eh, consider yourself lucky. When my sh1t breaks, I have to walk or skate... sometimes as much as 15 miles a day.

Not having another mode of transportation makes you rush things more than you ought to. Last time my car broke, I didn't have enough $$ to fix it, so I had to quit my job and get one closer to home.

yea but i need new bearings, head gasket, head studs, possibly a crank and most likely rods (im getting rods for almost nothing)

the reason i say "stock" is cause i was think ing about going w/ JDM ITR pistons to bump the compression, but like i said before i need reliability, and although 11:1 isnt very risky it could turn out to be more probolems than its worth till i can afford to do alot of other stuff as well like better rods, and some head work.

...as long as you get a good deal on the parts you need. If youre paying the same either way, 11:1 is pretty safe if the car is running well and doesn't have shit gas. But if its significantly more, I understand just getting it back up and running stock.

But I have friends that would get really pissed if you rebuilt an engine stock... they say its the perfect excuse to go all out. Theyre probably right. * wink, wink, nudge, nudge*

ya just pull the bearings (rod, and main) and make sure ur cam is not all scuffed up where the bearings go. If it is u can always use emery(sp?) cloth to smooth and u will be good to go, I had to do that last week and the engine seems alot stronger now. I got mine from bap import auto parts in az for $90 w/oilpan gasket, it took about 2 hrs todo, all of em went right in and its been running like a champ. Even the gas mileage got better, or maybe its cuz im not driving it hard yet

well thats what i woulda done if i could find a beater LS motor (relativly cheap and better than converting back to d-series) to use.

actatually i got a call last night, and i am picking up a GSR longblock that needs piston rings and valve seals for the unbeatable price of $100 so im gonna have a bacckup block and crank in case mine is ****ed and sell the head, or i can rebuild it too and sell it for alot more thank what id have in it gotta love divorces j/p
