its funny you owned a neon but are talking shit on a mustang and dsm.. thats ****ing hilarious.. hears a fact for you.. (since you are talking about drag racing) you can dump ANY money into your civic, or neon.. dump that same amount into a mustang and the mustang will RAPE the civic or neon OVER AND OVER AND OVER again... lets face it.. a neon, AND a civic are econobox's.. NOT really geared towards performance.. so we as tuners are at a SEVERE disadvantage.. i will say it again.. civic + perfomance = expensive.. there is NO way around it.
now You're missing the point. you're not taking into account the price of the car itself and maintenance issues.. and don't say to buy an old DSM or ugly azz 5.0, cuz that shit will break down repeatedly.. if it costs so much to make a civic fast, then why would people try?

get gold 13" wire spoke wheels, gold trim and parking feelers, like fifty curly antennae, eight sets of fog lights, air bag suspension, and purple bubbly tint:thumbup:

...oh yeah, I forgot the gigantic nike swoosh for the rear window and the "electric turbocharger" :exnbp:

are you serious??? HOW MUCH WAS YOUR CAR.. a mustang in decent shape is like 2/3k my 98 ex was 11 thousand.. lol so on that point you are wrong..

and as far as reliability... LMFAO make an 11sec civic, then make an 11 sec mustang... compare total cost and reliability.. the mustang wins again BOTH times... they try because they are silly (like me) a civic is an economy car

we've all heard this debate a thousand times... It just boils down to what you like, and what kinda challenge you want. If you want to own the 1/4 mi, you've either gotta have rwd, awd, or fwd and a ton of money.

A nice S13 silvia (or swapped 240sx) would make a nice, low-budget mustang competitor:naughty:

an sohc turbo is faster than a dohc in the 1/4 mile? how much boost would you need to get it faster?

I dunno, ask Jkan, he's the one with the fast turbo sohc. I think he runs like 8psi? See: Ride of the Week

get the b16 if you are tight on money, because you would have to boost the sohc and that leads to unrealibilty after a point. if you decide to boost, the b series is a much better engine to boost because you are already starting out way ahead of the d series engines in power.
