its funny you owned a neon but are talking shit on a mustang and dsm.. thats ****ing hilarious.. hears a fact for you.. (since you are talking about drag racing) you can dump ANY money into your civic, or neon.. dump that same amount into a mustang and the mustang will RAPE the civic or neon OVER AND OVER AND OVER again... lets face it.. a neon, AND a civic are econobox's.. NOT really geared towards performance.. so we as tuners are at a SEVERE disadvantage.. i will say it again.. civic + perfomance = expensive.. there is NO way around it.

now You're missing the point. you're not taking into account the price of the car itself and maintenance issues.. and don't say to buy an old DSM or ugly azz 5.0, cuz that shit will break down repeatedly.. if it costs so much to make a civic fast, then why would people try?

I also am looking for ideas on what to do with my car. I'm new by the way.

...oh yeah, I forgot the gigantic nike swoosh for the rear window and the "electric turbocharger" :exnbp:

and as far as reliability... LMFAO make an 11sec civic, then make an 11 sec mustang... compare total cost and reliability.. the mustang wins again BOTH times... they try because they are silly (like me) a civic is an economy car
we've all heard this debate a thousand times... It just boils down to what you like, and what kinda challenge you want. If you want to own the 1/4 mi, you've either gotta have rwd, awd, or fwd and a ton of money.
A nice S13 silvia (or swapped 240sx) would make a nice, low-budget mustang competitor:naughty:

no need to be rude. Sure a sohc turbo may be faster in the quarter mile, which is great for people who want to stomp swappers in a drag race.... but thats not really what many of us are concerned with. Try autocrossing an aftermarket turbo'd civic and youll be left in the dust.

get the b16 if you are tight on money, because you would have to boost the sohc and that leads to unrealibilty after a point. if you decide to boost, the b series is a much better engine to boost because you are already starting out way ahead of the d series engines in power.
