Default B16 In civic 98

I was wondering if the best swap for the price would be a b16 engine in a 98 civic ex. I have considered others such as h22a and b18c1 but i think a b16 would be easier to swap in and cheaper any help would be appreciated thank you

pretty much all b-series should be just about as easy to put in as the B16, if youre concerned about that. I would steer you away from the H22, its a lot more complicated, and more parts involved. You might also consider the B18B, a little cheaper than the B16a. More torque, but less hp. I guess that decision would depend on what your goals for the car are.

You sound exactly like where I am with my '98 Civic. I need to do a swap as well. Let me know what you do. I would appreciate it.

are you planning to go NA, turbo, SC?
B18C5 for NA
B18C1 and B16A2 (also SC) for turbo.

I don't think the B18C5 is worth the $$$, even if you do plan on going all-out all-motor. You'd end up replacing most of the stuff you paid so much for in the first place. MJO.

You compare NA vs. Boost. DuH.

If you said DOHC with Turbo vs. SOHC with Turbo, you would have more validity in your claims.

Use reasoning, KID.

no need to be rude. Sure a sohc turbo may be faster in the quarter mile, which is great for people who want to stomp swappers in a drag race.... but thats not really what many of us are concerned with. Try autocrossing an aftermarket turbo'd civic and youll be left in the dust.
