hmm. the belt thing is kinda weird. your crank puller isn't on cockeyed or one of your timing covers rubbing it for some odd reason. im just thinking that if you did everything else either something isn't lined up properly or something is rubbing.

had the timing belt off 4 times in the last two days in an effort to stop a stupid dripping oil leak that i'm sick of looking at. Start to finish, i changed my cam seals in 1 hour last night.

as far as the alternator belt goes.. i've been hearing rumor to the fact that it's an akward angle issue with the way the dart blocks were machined and that i just need to shim it. I'm gonna stock up on belts for my richmond trip & possibly start playing with some shims.

Screw the 21st, summer is starting early. Hottest flippin' days yet this year so far. Call it paybacks for me freezing my ass off in Ohio in August... but I'd really rather not. I'd rather it were much cooler than this, especially for the track. We can run up to Danco for some "cheap" 110 octane, and you might need it. It's very unusual for Richmond to be so hot this early in June.

Should make for an interesting day at Busch Gardens. Our pasty white asses will get sun. **** our garage tans! I gotz SPF. G-Force will be hot as a bitch.

ehh jafro isn't the only one with a jacked up trans.. my is all fubared as well.

I believe that the bearings on the end of my main shaft & counter shaft have both failed me. Thus the problems dis-engauging gears at high rev. & the whirling noise that i have while in gear on decel.

I'm gonna pull the backup trans out from under the work bench & change the input shaft bearing so that it's ready to go. I'll probably just swap them out & work on the current problem next week some time.

yea seriously!

but i'm realizing now that my problems that i had shifting on the track were not related to my slicks.. it was because my tranny bearings were not up to par and are now showing there wear enough for me to see what has really been going on. I now know why it wouldn't let me quick shift it.

I'll keep up with the updates. I've got to drop jason's motor in his teg tonight but if i get some time later on i'll mess with some trans work.
