needs ideas for a swap

Hell if you can get a spoon motor or a JG motor then do it B16A B18C1, whatever. The H22 is too much of a mess IMO to swpa in that car. A JDM B16A and the B18C1 are the same as far as I'm concerned. If boost is your vise then the B18B1 is the ticket. My next motor will be a Built B18B1 with a nice ball bearing snail on it. It's all apples and oranges unless you want to compete seriously or something. GSR motors are pricey compared to the JDM 92+ B16A and they have the same horsepower with a minor difference in torque. The head and valve train is better on the B16A, and Type-R parts are easy as pie to slap on. But like I said, the differences are really trivial IMO. The VTEC head on the NON-VTEC block is a waste of time and hassle IMO. If it were such a great combination then racers would use it. Mad power is had all motor but possible, and for that, the GSR is the weapon of choice for reasons I'm not aware of because all the all motor guys are real hush hush and they each have their tricks. Just my thoughts, Good Luck
what would be good for a 98 hatch??? i'm thinking of going with b16a2. i'm not somebody thats gonna be racing all the time, just take it to the track on weekends and stuff, if i got a b16a2 and kept my power steering, would my car be pretty slow???

ok, so if i went with a spoon motor, would i be able to put a snail on it? i have heard that spoon motors cannot handle boost. if this is wrong, please let me know. and i can get a jg motor from thier website. it would cost about the same as getting a new jdm motor, but then my question still stands, would i be able to add boost to it?

Well, most spoon motors have a pretty high compression ratio but the blocks are built and the valve train is top notch so I'm assuming 10-15 psi would be okay and a stoked spoon motor puts out close to 200Hp as is it is so it would be a screamer with a turbo. Now JG can give you an engine built for forced induction duty so it too would have mad potential. There are several places you can buy pre built engines at several build levels. There is also a place in New York that sells built B18B1's for turbo duty. That would be awesome.
well it seems the civic is out of the range now. this really sucks. my AEM CAI that i have on my 95 accord sucked in some water last night. needless to say, i think my whole motor is fried. won't know until tomorrow though when my mechanic rips it apart. but needless to say, AEM says that i should have sixteen inches of clearance with the filter. so if the water was only eight inches deep, then how did water get sucked in? i don't know, but it seems to me that an h22 swap is in order, not to mention AEM paying for it. and if they refuse, its completely ok, my lawyer can talk to them about it, and if that happens, well hell, i may have my car completely built, with a civic completely built for that matter. so, what is the concensus on this?
