It's usually a good idea to replace both the cap and rotor simultaneously. I don't know if it comes with a rotor though.

do them both, rotor is not included in civic setups. I think one company makes a set for the accord.

total is around 20-25 dollars for cap/rotor

thanks guys...what rotor do I used and cap....I'm guessing 88 teg cap/rotor...I have a zc motor in my hatch...thanks again..

Any auto parts store should carry them. I don't know if you have an Advanced auto, but they were cheaper than the Auto Zone in my area.

If you do it that way, you should really disconnect the wiring going to the distributor cause you could throw sparks...

I just leave the car in gear and rock it until the rotor is where I want it. It's much safer that way.

Rock it? All you have to do is remove the wire from the coil to the cap. Crank once and see if it lines up.

I agree that you would never want to run the car without that retaining screw in place for your rotor. Amazing amounts of damage could result.

I'd like to know how your retaining screw was labeled "unuseable". What feat did you complete for this to happen?
