Default Cap and Rotor...

I just replaced my distributor cap and rotor, and upon replacing the rotor, I messed up the screw that retains it. Is this absolutely necessary in keeping the rotor where it is, or am I fine w/o it until I could get a screw. Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

when you say messed it up what do you mean??? didn't the new one come with screws.. between the 6 old and new screws can't you come up with 3 good ones?? its pretty important.. if it is loose it may not fire correctly..

Not the cap, the rotor. I know that most cars don't have a screw/bolt that retains the rotor, but for some strange reason, honda does. I stripped the screw somewhat and I don't want to force it in and make it worst. That's why I was wondering it it's okay to not have that screw that retains the rotor.

Not a difficult one at all. The hardest part would be that you have to chance that the screw that holds the rotor would be accessible when you turn off the car.

just crank the motor until it does.. its a pain in the ass most of the time... esp. when puting on a non-honda rotor and its 180 out when you have to put it back on.. but yeah easy DIY job
