im gonna use the same rota c8s i have aside from them being powdr coated. im just gonna stick some sort of street radials on it for daily driving. as for the track, i havent decided what imma try. a frined of mine has some delsol rims i might stick some slicks on. ive never heard anyone list the downsides of this bov, thanx for the heads up. ive been bouncing between the hks, a tial or greddy type rs. i just dont want any boost leak

By nature, at part throttle, your BOV should leak if you're SLOWLY accelerating because it's actuated by your intake manifold pressure. If you've spooled your turbo, and you're rolling off the throttle, your intake manifold will contain less pressure than your intake, so the bov will vent. At lower PSI, this BOV would be less of a problem, but at 21 PSI, it breaks stuff because it chatters like crazy.

I'm not externally gated, but I've ported the internal gate to 34mm, ported the exhaust housing to 7cm. It still boost-creeps like crazy. It probably wouldn't be so bad if I got an external gate or a bigger turbo. I'm just using a TD05H16g Mitsubishi, and it's probably my biggest restriction. I'm planning to upgrade it and bolt this one on my Colt.

You sir, are using a 67 trim monster. it will have way more potential than my dinky little turbo. Looking back over your mods, I think I underestimated that turbo.

ya, the turbo is pretty beefy and with my goal being roughly 400, im thinking it shouldnt require much over 20psi which is why with the cfms it pushes and at that much pressure, im affraid of leaking, which is why i chose the hks, but im still debating

the setup as of right now is follows.
b18b block
bored, honed, resurfaced, hot tanked and jet treated
golden eagle block gaurd tigged in place
cleavite bearings
eagle rods
wiseco 9.3:1 pistons
type r oil pump
golden eagle ls/vtec conversion kit
golden eagle head studs
password jdm intake gasket
rest of gaskets are all oem aside from GE head gasket
gsr cams
skunk2 cam gears
stock b16 head with valvejob

garrett t3/t4 60/63
tial 38mm wastegate
cc-fab chuck norris manifold
bov is undecided, probably hks sequential
jrc 8in FMIC anodized black
cc-fab intercooler piping
precision 1000cc injectors
crome pro

most of the turbo stuff has yet to be ordered aside from the intercooler, wastegate and the manifold is being made.
the goal is 400-450 whp. i think its possible with some good tuning.
for those of you going ls/vtec with a b16 head. it has been proven by numerous people that the b16 has better over all flow then the b18c1 head. the b16 head is damn near identical to the type r head from what i have been reading. the gsr head also yields a higher compression ratio so keep that in mind. and if u do get the b16 head, one must know that b16 cams kinda suck. the cheapest and most readily available upgrade would be cams from a gsr. there are very similar to crower turbo cams. the ideal choice would be a set of itr/ctr cams as they have very nice characteristics for boost believe it or not, but have a much higher price tag then gsrs. i got gsr cams and cam gears for 150 shipped. itr/ctr cams on average sell for over 300 for set.
evans tuning out of pennsylvania has dyno graphs that show the advantage of gsr cams over b16 cams. heres the results.

once i get the rest of my parts, ill take some pics of the pile i have in my bedroom
Going great! Not boosted, going a different direction. h: I'll post something sometime...

Yep! Just dyno'd 320awhp/308awtq 3 weeks ago and got tuned by Sean Glazar and Thomas Dorris at Extreme Motorsports. Now instead of peaking and falling off, it holds all the way to 8700RPMs. Sean ran the piss out of my car. Thomas is the head honcho of DSMlink engine management systems. It's really frikkin' crazy to get user support like that. I might be knocking on 11's with some C16. That stuff smells so frikkin' good. Yes, that's 4hp less than I did last year un-tuned on pump gas, but I picked up over 60hp at 7500RPMs and she feels nasty. If I can find a good end tank solution and get 'er back to the track, I think I might scratch 11's and get kicked out for not having a cage.

Edit: I have video, but I haven't edited any of it yet. Joe Riggeri's 550awhp 2g Eclipse was nuts. I got that one, too.

If you're on or off the throttle and your car is built for race use only, the SSQV is awesome. Daily-driving it at 21 PSI isn't such a great fit for me.

So... a different direction eh? The Lexus isn't an inch off the ground rolling on chrome 24"s is it? You've always been a :grinpimp:

If I can't fix the intercooler I've got, then everything else has to go... BOV, Intake, FMIC, UICP, LICP, J-pipe, 3.5" GM MAF, throttle body elbow... it was a custom short-route setup with an extruded-tube core, and it was expensive. My whole engine bay and airflow metering setup was built around it so I'm really trying to fix it if I can.

Someday I'll get a manifold and a big external gate because my car boost creeps like crazy. No matter where I set my boost controller, it hits 21 PSI by 6000 RPMs, so my BOV problem could be caused by overspooling my tiny little turbo.

I think the end tanks are currently only 16 gauge aluminum. I'm reconstructing new end tanks from 10 gauge stock. I just found a supplier locally where I can get it. If that doesn't do the trick, that BOV will be for sale for sure because I'm tired of blowing my end tanks apart and having to disassemble my front end to fix it.

got some more parts in. i got the wastgate for 110shipped off ht, i was stoked. the cams are from a gsr and the rest of the stuff is pretty self explainatory. im just waiting for my bov, greddy boost controller, shiftlinkage and t-bolt clamps to come in. the manifold is being made by RCAutoWorks, great guy. i told him to take his time and make something ffective but cost efficent, so he said he would build me something very similar to this

its the same one he uses on his drag car. im just not sure if i should go with a 60 trim or 57 trim t3/to4e, i know for sure though it will have a .63 a/r
