need help real bad
hey recently my timing belt went out, and i changed it. To specify it didnt break
i just believe it was stretched. when it went out it sounded like one of the valves was knocking on the piston and it had no power. then it was cranking really hard i thought it was the starter because i did accidentally short it once, but i got a new one and it was still cranking really hard.(new timing belt installed at this point). So i took that back put my old starter in and all it does now is click when i try to start it. Also battery voltage is good until i turn the key to on position then something drains it.(judging by interior light). its not the starter or battery its something i shorted on the ignition circuit. (in start or on position)

I had a similar problem before. I say before going for expensive fix. Get a brand new battery from Walmart for 30 bucks and see if your car will start with the new battery. That clicking sound without turning over meaning you got no juice. Try that first before replacing expensive stuff. Good luck....
If your timing belt went most likely your valves went as well. If you take the head out you'll see the valves don't seat correctly. I would use a 19mm rachet and socket to turn the engine to check whether the engine is seized. Make sure you turn it counter clock wise.I would do a compression check in all 4 Cylinders to make things easy if you can crank it. DSoes the engine crank over?
You can't do a compression check if the timing is way off  but manually cranking it is a good idea. The lights probably dim because your battery is being drained of what little charge is left. A new battery would make sense too. Check compression after you replace the timing belt and ensure the timing is correct between the pistons and the valves.
I'd be afraid that when the belt "went out" (I'm still not sure what he means by that... did the engine quit because of the belt?) it probably messed up a valve of two. Common when timing belts go on Civics.
to be exact the belt didnt break it was just stretched, at least one valve was knocking. also maybe bad tensioner. when i turn it around a number of times it seems to jump on and off timing. has compression, but i dont have a tester. i know this because i tryed to push start it in 2nd gear plenty of compression pretty sure timing is dead on except for tensioner possibility. the starter problem is i believe from shorting the starter while the ignition was in the on position. new battery , disconnected starter still has a severe drain somewhere when the key is on(interior and dash lights cut out)
still stuck today i went to start it it did thwae same thing it wdnt even power the headlights then all the sudden they lit up . also sometimes the interior and dash lights flicker, then they go back to normal
