well by now the plugs could be fouled, replace them first before you look at the timing belt or ecu.

plugs are just over a year old and visually seem ok.

what is the easiest way to inspect the timing belt?

replace them anyway.

if it was your timing belt then the rotor wouldnt be spinning.

when you turn the crank it rotates the belt and turns the cam and the cam turns the rotor.

Heres an idea.....takes 2 people.

Since you have spark at the dist, pull your plugs put them back into the wires, touch to metal, and try starting. you'll see them spark if all is well. if not, work down the line. buy plugs first b/c they are cheap, then spend 40 or so on some wires (or use the oprotunity to buy some better ones)

Hope that helps, anyone, please add/correct.

wellp, just did what XS said, plugs are sparking, fuel is flowing, engine isnt starting

could ignition timing cause the engine not to start? i would imagine the engine should at least try to start, but the ignitior timing is off for sure, since i replaced the whole distributor

Make sure your intake is clear.....if you are stock, for now, pull your filter, and leave the box open.
