CEL after swap
I have just swapped out a D15b7 out of my 94.DX and replaced it with a D16y7 out of 98DX. All is running ok, but i get a CEL!! It seems to always go on when I am either idling or slowing down. never at full throtle.
I know I have to turn it off and connect the clip to get the code, but when the engine stops, the CEL goes away. Would it still remember it?
Is this some deamon that is going to haunt me because I put in OBD2 motor???

one, check the code -- try it with the engine running, who said it had to be off?
two, take it an autozone and have them check it and see if they can reset it.
Its not uncommon for a swap to pop up a CEL. Get it checked and reset for free at any oil change place, or autozone, or advance auto.
