Dude...go for the swap...I had a CBR600...wrecked it..the swap will be funner and last you longer. You are young...you'll wreck the bike within your first year. There are only two kinds of motorcycle riders...those who have gone done....and those that will be soon.

Im having that same debate with myslef.

Bikes + = gas mielage, traffic, parking
- = more dangerous :nervous:, and you can only drive them in certain weather conditions

Swap + = faster than stock car, dependable, safer, you can drive in any weather
- = you still get stuck in traffic, gas mielage is a bitch, and you still have to fight for parking

One thing to think about....save up a little bit more, buy the swap, and then pick up a small starter bike (for a few hundred dollars) and learn on that for a while. By the time you'd be ready for a newer/faster bike, you'll have enough money saved up that you can get it, and you'll have your swap in the meantime to keep you happy.

I've had two cars at all times since just before I turned 17, only going back to one car a couple months ago (just shy of 20,) and I'm looking for a second toy car again. Granted, I've never bought a car for over $2k, average price has been about $1k.

Anyway, hit a car on the highway on a bike, you're done. Hit another car on the highway in another car, at least you have a reasonable chance. Not to mention driving a bike in the rain/sleet/snow/cold sucks ass.
