One thing to think about....save up a little bit more, buy the swap, and then pick up a small starter bike (for a few hundred dollars) and learn on that for a while. By the time you'd be ready for a newer/faster bike, you'll have enough money saved up that you can get it, and you'll have your swap in the meantime to keep you happy.
