You need to drill a hole in the rear subframe to bolt up the d brackets. If it's an ST bar, you need to switch around the rear struts. The endlink brakcet attaches to the front of the LCA and this is impossible because there is a welded nut on the front of the strut fork. This is why it takes longer to do the ST bar than most others. The handling is there, but the ride is also a little rougher, as can be expected when stiffening up the suspension. It's not hard at all to install a sway bar, probably 45 minute job or so.

I put on the stock rear sway bar off a '99 Si. I definitely noticed an improvement in handling. It wasn't super dramatic, but it was nice improvement. My car doesn't handle like a Corvette or anything now, but its definitely MUCH better than stock, and its enough to have some fun with. I got my complete Si set up (everything you need) for $80. I'd say for the price, its definitely one of the best bang for the buck mods you can do.

yea i have a ST rear and you have to drill new holes in the LCAs cuz the bar is bigger than a factory bar, therefore the holes need to be further apart... took maybe an hour and a half to do, including turning the shocks around and drilling and all that..

and yes you can have tie bars as well.. i have the neuspeed one.. ST also makes a rear sway/rear tie combo.. it won an award at SIMA.

I"m not sure about the GSR bar, but for the Si, you dont' need a beaks kit. Its not thick enough to warrant it. The GSR is probably not much thicker, and might not require one, but I'm not sure (someone confirm/deny this please). Anyway, if you're looking to buy one, check ebay, and keep an eye on the 4 sale section of this message board or any of the other ones. I got mine off a guy on HT. Also check with any junkyards around you. Whatever you do, don't go and get it at Honda. The entire setup costs around $210 at Honda...I got mine for $80, and I've heard some people getting them for as low as $50. Just keep your eyes open and be patient, and you'll find one. The GSR set up is gonna cost you more b/c you are gonna have to buy Si endlinks for it since integra ones won't work. If you have to get them new, be prepared to shell out like $55 a piece for each endlink. If you have a ton of money, go with this route since the bar is a little thicker from what I've heard, but if you don't want to spend a ton, just pick yourself up and Si one.

okay i'm very clueless about sway bars. its that curvy rod under the car right with the bushines leeting it pivot? whats an LCA?

also i have a 5th gen ex sdn. i am pretty sure it comes with a stock sway bar...... right?

my exhaust was rattling on the sway bar (what i think iks the sway bar) near where it goes over it. i silenced it by [putting a piece of water tube around the way bar and clamping it on.... an aftermarket one is the EXACT same shape rite?

can someone answer ALL of these questions? or some of them cuz I hate reposting the questions so people will see them

yeah, the curvy bar is a sway bar. The LCA is the "lower control arm", where the end links of the sway bar attach to.

humm... thanks for the info... i'll keep that in mind... cuz i am debating between the gsr sway bar with beak kit vs. comptech sway with lower tie. i know price wise comptech is a lot more expensive, but i've also heard that comptech may have some issues with rattling sound when used on a greddy evo exhaust. so can anyone confirm this?
