Well, the fact that you usually get what you pay for should be comforting. You know the AEM setup (rotors and pads, I think) got an otherwise stock celica to stop from 60 in 97 ft!

yeha, they list on their site that AEM shiz on a civic should stop it faster than a ferrari 550 normally does..which is kinda cool

i hope those brembo rotors work well with this setup. hopefully i can swap over the rears real soon too

I know I'm responding too late but for what it's worth I've heard to just stick with solid rotors. Modern pads don't gas like their predecessors so slots and holes, which are stress risers I'd assume, aren't necessary. If you stick with what you've already ordered, hopefully all works out. It should be perfectly fine on the streets but for some reason I picture you as the weekend racer type...or at least a future weekend racer. Just let us know how it goes.

i did discuss these issues with the seller and he said for that very reason the "drilled" is actually just dimples and not holes all the way through. well see when they get here :dunno:

at 1500d + things start to burn and emit corrosive chemicals, acids, etc that can damage and prematurely rot your rotors. not to mention the heat alone can be damaging. now the heat is still there, but apparently he is claiming the escaping gasses are now better controlled.

Race Technologies offer nice AUTHENTIC Brembo Cross-Drilled or Slotted rotors, I have a set on my front and they look and perform great. They also have pads that produce LESS brake dust (not dust-free, but just significantly less) THeir prices are reasonable and ship pretty fast. Check them out:

Ask for Barry & Tell them Nelson from NY sent you.

check out motocycles, if they can do 180 mph and come to a complete stop, do you think they would crap out, and they are like 4 times thinner than on a car.

stress fractures in ANY rotor probably wont happen in any of OUR cars. In order to reach temperatures high enough to compromise a rotor's (especially a decent rotor's) structural integrity, you'd have to be running it up to 90mph, hard braking to 5mph repeatedly for hours. Its probably only a real concern in REAL race cars like LM, WRC, ect. I've never heard of anyone cracking a drilled rotor in any street/race application.

But yeah, the dimples are supposedly stronger. I personally doubt it makes a difference.
