reading that though, makes me wonder. I tried with the car at a stall, what about if you put the clutch in?
Does VTEC disengage and engage everytime you shift? I doubt that. Maybe it'll engage with the car going and the clutch in...
I'll try it, once I get my crx out of the impound ( ).

vtec will remain as long as the next gear hits over the engage point... if u shift slowly and the engine revs down just before the next gear (that will catch over the engage point) it will disengage then re-engage.. and slowest speed vtec will engage is yer first gear mph at the standard engage point... thats common sense

so that means if you're going 60 mph, put the clutch in, let the engine rev down to 1500 rpm, then put the gas to the floor you'll hear vtec change over?

It doesn't just look at rpm. VTEC is one of the most stubborn systems because if its getting any wierd readings from just about any sensors, VTEC wont engage. I take it you've never done a swap?

if the engine revs below the vtec engage point.. yes it will disengage and re-engage when in gear and above the engage point...
