Did all the judges completely forget about the first 5 or 6 rounds? How DeLa Hoya completely baffled Mosley with jabs and body blows? It's unfortunate that the later rounds are what sticks in the judges minds more. But other than a round or two, Mosley never put together any punishing combos. A big shot here....a big shot there....but nothing substantial. There's a difference between punching...and boxing....and DLH outboxed Mosley. He should have won the decision. And that's coming from someone who boxes.

Not all the the first 5 to 6 rds went to DLH. The rounds prior to the last four were split. I agree totally Sugar was outboxed but again DLH shots were just as if he was pawing at Sugar. They were according to the rules; hits. But because DLH fought in retreat the judges look at whose is the agressor. Sugar not only was the agressor he used punishing shots and wore down his opponent. Therefore the last few rounds go to Sugar because he won the battle.

The point is out of a twelve rd. fight,.. DHL won at least 8, if not, definitely seven.
It's ludicris that they didnt even give him a draw.
All the newspapers around my way are saying it was somehow set up, for the simple fact that there was a "surge" in bets placed on Mosley real close to fight time.
He was the underdog, and all of a sudden he was the favorite.
Vegas had a hand in all this.

And the newspapers and boxing analyst I've read said it was a close fight that could have gone either way. Because Mosely was more aggresive and was never really hurt by DLH it was big factor in a close fight. What kills me are DLH fans who forget he won the same kind of fight against Pernell Whitaker. Whitaker outboxed him and confused him and DLH got some real solid hits and was the agressor. There was no conspiracy talk then. The fact is; in a close fight the fighter who seems to win exchanges who is stronger at the end of the fight will win. DLH is a great fighter and a class act, (up until Saturday). Its just a shame he can't say I lost to a good fighter.

To me it sounds like you're talking about the first fight, which still should've been a draw.
There's is no way in hell Mosley won that 2nd fight.
And in case you didnt know.... Judges are suppose to judge the ENTIRE FIGHT,.. as per the rules of all 3 major boxing sanctions.
Those are the rules.
Those judges didnt follow those rules. Your testimony is proof of that.

Noo! I'm talking about Pernell Whitaker. If you didn't see that fight then you don't know what I'm referring to.

And you've actually proved my point. The judges are supposed to judge the entire fight; as a fighter is supposed to fight the entire fight. Those three judges; who have impecable resumes with not a blemish on them; saw a close fight and because Sugar Shane Mosely was the stronger of the two fighters in the end in a close contest got the descison. Forget the punch stats. Thats fools gold. That is someone sitting at ring side with a counter recording evertime someone gets hit. The judges don't use that. They watch the fight. If a round can go either way they try and ascertain if one fighter got the better of the other, if so one wins the round, if not its called even. De LA Hoya had outstanding combos he put his punches together at times very well. But Sugar was right there with him and he hurt DLH in the late rounds. I thought it could have a been a draw it could have gone to DLH and it could have gone to Sugar. My point is DLH was not robbed and he should not be acting punk about it.

Good point.
The truth is DHL won at least 8 or 9 rounds, and him being the champ, he should've been given the least amount of respect and got a draw.
True, Mosley landed harder shots.
But DLH outBOXED him.
We were all watching a boxing match, and DLH provided.
Do you honestly think Mosley thought he won the fight?? When Larry was interviewing him at the end?

No DLH did not win 8 to 9 rounds. He only won outright 4 or 5 the rest were very close. I agree with the theory that to be the champ you should beat the champ. At least thats the way it used to be. But in defense of Mosley. DLH did not defend his title that well. He did not set himself apart from Mosely and he left too much latitude in the judges thinking. You can't do that and get hit as hard as DLH did and expect to win.
