Did all the judges completely forget about the first 5 or 6 rounds? How DeLa Hoya completely baffled Mosley with jabs and body blows? It's unfortunate that the later rounds are what sticks in the judges minds more. But other than a round or two, Mosley never put together any punishing combos. A big shot here....a big shot there....but nothing substantial. There's a difference between punching...and boxing....and DLH outboxed Mosley. He should have won the decision. And that's coming from someone who boxes.
Not all the the first 5 to 6 rds went to DLH. The rounds prior to the last four were split. I agree totally Sugar was outboxed but again DLH shots were just as if he was pawing at Sugar. They were according to the rules; hits. But because DLH fought in retreat the judges look at whose is the agressor. Sugar not only was the agressor he used punishing shots and wore down his opponent. Therefore the last few rounds go to Sugar because he won the battle.
