So I was talking to my best friend awhile back on the subject of adultery. It was interesting to hear his view points on that subject and also on whether or not he could forgive his significant other or not. I was wondering what everyone's opinion is on if you could fogive your spouse for this?

Honestly, I don't think I can ever forgive a woman I married for sleeping with another man.

 

I don't think I know how I'd handle the situation til I was forced to be in it. Hard to say. I'd most likely just break up with the person on the spot and move on.

 

no forgiveness here either. I would never lose my fidelity, and I'd want the woman to do the same.

 

There is no way i could accept that. I would end the marraige/relationship in an instant. I will not work with someone who is not willing to work on the marraige/relationship before taking drastic measures. (Drunk or not_)

 

This is a tough call. Each situation is different, I knew a couple who went through this and they stuck it out and they are now closer then when they were before. Although that isn't the right way to go about becoming one with one another I think for them they are better off now then before.

Nope, I'd have no faith in the person nor would I ever be able to trust them. At most, I probably could be their friend, but knowing me, it would be after a year or so..

 

The problem with infidelity is the same with any crime or breach of contract... the first time you catch it, chances are it happened at least 3 times without being caught... But... y'know, I don't like to be a hardass and inflexible with my views, and I can see situations where I can move the relationship beyond the questionable event... but that takes honesty on both parts, with your partners and yourself...

I've never cheated, and when I'm in a serious relationship with a girl, nothing deters me...

Thus, it came as a horrible shock when my last girlfriend decided to accuse me of cheating! I was confused as fawk until, talking with her friends and piecing things together she has said to me, she had cheated on me and was trying to justify it...
