A lot of people don't realize that jobs exist where the majority of the pay comes in tips. But. I tip in proportion to the service. If a waiter/waitress is nice but doesn't give the greatest service, I'm not giving them the greatest tip. Unless I'm out with this one "friend" (girlfriend for me - Spood) of mine who says she always gives a big tip because she used to be a waitress...then I give a big tip so I don't look like an asshole and she puts out later in the evening.

i always tip atleast 15% unless the service is poor. and if its good ill tip more. just yesterday i went to lunch with like 15 people and i ended up paying way more than my share of the tip because people are assholes. even nice people are assholes. i worked valet for a while and i had to put up with so many idiots you wouldnt believe it.
:madfawk: people who dont tip fairly. you should die!
a lot of the servers i have worked with had kids, and when the tips were shitty, their kids got shitty presents for christmas, and wondered why their parents didnt love them.
i loathe wealthy people who underpay for services. they should die
I tip according to services rendered. If I go some place and they only have valet parking available (because they don't want to assume liability for the vehicles) I don't tip. If valet parking is an option I will only tip when I get my car back, valets are only doing their job. It's like going into a coffee shop and the employees working the counter have a tip jar, sorry you aren't waiting on me, I have to take the hot coffee and sandwich to my table myself and have to bus my table as well..........NO TIP HERE. On a side note I also WILL NOT use the check yourself out lanes in stores, this is a way of the store to make me an unpaid employee, I check myself out, I bag my own groceries, and I don't get anything in return.
If I am in a restaurant and get excellent service I will tip in excess of 20%, poor service I will leave a note on the bill stating the waitperson's name and that I was given poor service and therefore am leaving no tip. I refuse to pay included tips in a bill for a party, this is a practice that insures/incourages poor service. I have disputed this with restaurants and won. If they won't do it I simply request individual bills for everyone.

PS- I thought you had me on ignore...
